ALMA MATER

Years may go and friends may wander

still within our hearts there will be

Mem-o-ries that grow fonder of the days so happy and free

Green and golden days
Let our voices raise
In a tribute to your name.

You will always be in our memory

Klein Forest ever we will sing your praise.
IT'S ALL ABOUT

Klein Forest High School is located in a diverse community north of downtown Houston, Texas.  When Klein Independent School District began to grow and expand with additional high schools, the school board decided that all Klein high schools would have the word Klein in the name of the school.  Klein Forest was chosen as a name to represent the geographical area of Klein that includes many trees.  (The word Forest was not chosen because of the subdivision Greenwood Forest.)  Klein Forest High School, the district's second high school, was completed in 1979 with the construction cost of $16,984,025, ($34.43 per square foot). Klein Forest High School’s enrollment on opening day, August 1979, was 1,450 students.  The initial faculty consisted of 117 teachers.  We are the home of the mighty Golden Eagles. Our colors are Forest green and gold. Our school's mission is “To provide a community and learning environment that supports excellence in academics, pride in performance, and success in learning so students can become productive, knowledgeable and prepared citizens in a global workplace and changing world.” Our principal is Mr. Bill Lakin and our Athletic Director and Head Football coach on  is Kenny Hammock. We have adminstrators and faculty members who are graduates of Klein Forest like our head volleyball coach Wynette Fobbs, and our associate principal Mindy Lindinger.  We are the home of the International Business Academy, which is a four-year, magnet program that encompasses the high school core curriculum with additional academic courses that emphasize business, foreign language, and global culture which is run by another Klein Forest graduate LaQuesha Grigsby.  Klein Forest offers a variety of Advanced Placement classes (AP) where students can get college credits in courses such as Biology, Computer Science, Physics, Music Therapy, Chemistry, Literature and Composition, Statistics, Psychology, English Language and Composition, Government, US history and European History. We also have several distinguished athletes that graduated from Klein Forest.  Bonnie Caulfield, Tawny Hammett, Lauren Tavey and Malaika Murry, Tasha Davis, Katie Philo, Jessica Shipp are all volleyball players who graduated in the top ten percent of their classes.  Derek Brew competed in the 2004 Olympics and he won a bronze medal in the 400m Run and a GOLD medal in the 4X400 meter relay.  He was 3 time World Outdoor Champion with a gold medal in 4X400m relay (01, 03, 05).  Ron Edwards plays for the Kansas City Chiefs in the National Football league and he started 35 consecutive regular season games at nose guard for Texas A&M University where he recorded 121 tackles with 10 sacks and 23 stops for losses during his career.
